Overall objective
Assistance in social and economic development of border areas in Przemyśl county in Poland and Mostyska district in Ukraine by promotion of infrastructure of the "Fortress of Przemyśl"*
*Under the "Infrastructure of the "Fortress of Przemyśl" we understand totality of communities, institutions (non-governmental, public), local authorities, and activities which are directly related with historical and cultural heritage of Poland and Ukraine - the "Fortress of Przemyśl"
Specific objectives
1. Increase the effectiveness of regional development policies in the entire Ukrainian-Polish borderland within Mostyska district of Lviv region and Przemyśl county of Podkarpacie province by developing a Cross-border cooperation programme and its implementation plan, institutional and professional consolidation of non-governmental organizations, local self-governments and community organizations, as well as by devising policies promoting this cross-border region, particularly through the formulation of the Promotion strategy for the micro-region "Fortress of Przemyśl" (micro-project 1)
2. Economical and tourist development of cross-border region in Poland and Ukraine by means of coordination of information flows of cultural and historical nature, improvement of work of the entrepreneurship in tourism area, forming the investment attractiveness of the region and accessibility of cultural heritage for tourists. (micro-project 2)
3. Promotion of a common historical and cultural heritage "Fortress of Przemyśl" by conducting a set of activities on improvement of tourist attractiveness of the forts, forming the structures on coordination of efforts of institutions on elaboration of new priorities in development of cultural and tourist sphere, and strengthening the role or residents in development of their territories. (micro-project 3)
4. Promotion of a common historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine and Poland - "Fortress of Przemyśl", namely: improving the attractiveness and information consistency on the forts in the field of cultural tourism of the region; promoting the fortress as an entertainment for tourists via organizing events to promote products and regional cuisines; promoting and joint learning from each other traditions, local food and meals from Przemyśl county in Poland and Mostyska district in Ukraine, as a common cultural heritage by organizing the events that promote these traditions in the surroundings of the forts. (micro-project 4)
5. Development of cross-border cooperation in the area of cultural tourism in Przemyśl county in Poland and Mostyska district in Ukraine namely: promoting the fortress as an entertainment for tourists via organizing the events to promote folk crafts; improving the attractiveness and information consistency on the forts in the field of cultural tourism of the region. (micro-project 5)
6. Development of new tourist services on the territory of "Fortress of Przemyśl" by organization of activities related with sports and active recreation for the residents of borderland; creation of conditions for sustainable development of such services. (micro-project 6)
7. Promotion of the development of tourism around the "Fortress of Przemyśl" by training of qualified personnel among local residents to accompany (guide) the tourists on cross border tourist routes, which combine different forts into general tourism product. (micro-project 7)
8. Supporting the promotion of common historical and cultural heritage of Poland and Ukraine - the "Fortress of Przemyśl" by creation, development and use of information resources of borderlands in Mostyska district and Przemyśl county. (micro-project 8)
9. Enhancement of tourist prospects of military forts and cemeteries and strengthening the cultural and historical contacts between inhabitants of cross-border regions of Poland and Ukraine through the implementation of Cross-Border Ukrainian-Polish Youth Volunteering Program. (micro-project 9)
10. Support for cooperation of schools in Przemyśl district in Poland and Mostyska district in Ukraine in the field of cultivation of joint historical and cultural heritage of Poland and Ukraine. (micro-project 10)
