Measure3.2. Local communities’ initiatives

The overall objective of the project is "Strengthening of integration of the Polish Belarusian border area in the Białowieża Forest Euroregion".

The umbrella project embraces 8 micro-projects.
The specific objectives result from the micro-projects and are directed to:
- to build and preserve cultural and historical awareness of the Białowieża Primeval Forest of the inhabitants as well as the social, educational and cultural integration of local communities in the border Polish - Belarusian area through cultivation of folk customs and rituals associated with the language, dance and folk songs (microproject no. 1),
- to increase the ability of the fire-fighter's structures of Poland and Belarus from the transboarder Białowieża Forest Euroregion in the cooperation of transboarder rescue activities (microproject no. 2),
- to develop joint cross-border contacts, improve local tourist trade‘s knowledge of Białowieża Primeval Forest region in Poland and Belarus as well as mutual interpersonal relations initiation between this region inhabitants concerning active tourism (microproject no. 3),
- to establish and maintain contacts with operators in field of tourism on both sides of the border (microproject no. 4),
- to establish durable contacts resulting in future educational and cultural initiatives on the both sides of the border through creation of the local centre of transborder initiatives, an internet portal, study visits in Dubicze Cerkiewne Commune and Vidamlia (microproject no. 5),
- to encourage social integration of the border area, especially of the Białowieża Forest Euroregion area through the development of transborder interpersonal contacts and sports initiatives (microproject no. 6),
- to minimize the cross-border barriers between the school community of the School Complex No. 1 in Hajnówka and Secondary School No. 5 in Pružany (microproject no. 7),
- to strengthen the transborder co-operation on the area of the Białowieża Forest Euroregion, as well as social and cultural integration of the borderland (microproject no. 8).
