The overall objective of the project is to improve the health condition of the Hajnowka County and Grodno District inhabitants through improvement of prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of diseases transmitted by ticks in the Polish-Belarusian borderland.

The project will make it possible to modernize the Medical Diagnostic Laboratory in Hajnowka and the diagnostic laboratory at the Grodno hospital. Both sites will be provided with new medical equipment for better detection of diseases transmitted by ticks. The list  includes automatic analyser of ELISA tests for examinations of IgM and IgG antybodies against Borrelia burgdorferi and Tick-borne encephalitis and automatic coagulation analyser for examination of hemostasis.  

 The doctors and scientists from both countries will have opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience during conferences and training workshops. The results of the research and information how to prevent and treat the ticks related diseases will be communicated during a final campaign.
