The main objective of the Project is increasing safety of the Polish-Ukrainian border and border region. The feeling of safety is one of the most important human needs, that is why the institutional mechanisms are elaborated and the cooperation network are developed between the law enforcement agencies of both countries. Fighting the organized crime, smuggling or illegal immigration requires cooperation of the neighboring countries, mutual exchange of information about possible threats, technical support and coordination of activities.

Implementation of a project will include 1 cooperation network between the Regional Police Headquarters in Lublin and Department of MIA of Ukraine in Volyn district which will make it easier to develop the transborder cooperation in the area of fighting organised crime, smuggling and illegal immigration. The cooperation will be based on mutual informing about existing crime threats, exchange of experience in the field of threat prevention in the border area and gathering the evidence of committing crimes (f.e. Pictures, movies), organization of trainings and seminars, practical exercises on the subjects concerning cross-border crime.  There will be also improvements concerning the specialist equipment in 29 police units. The extra benefit of the realization of the project will be the increase of sense of safety among the inhabitants of the border area.

Another important cross-border effect of the cooperation will be the integration and exchange of experiences between partners participating in the project and in consequence encouraging to activity, openness and mutual assistance while ensuring the safety of the regions inhabitants. The realization of the project will contribute as well to the selection of a group of officers from Lublin and Ukrainian Militia, who will realize cases connected with transborder crimes.
