Conference opening the project "Investment in culture. Comprehensive action for cultural education" 24-25 October 2013 in Ternopil
On 24-25 October in Ternopil (Ukraine), a two-day conference opening the project "Investment in culture. Comprehensive action for cultural education" will take place. The project is co-financed within the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland - Belarus - Ukraine 2007-2013. During the two-day conference entitled "Cultural education - new times - new tools," the main subject matter will be culture and art in connection with modern technology. Place of the conference: Ukrainian House "Peremoha", 27 Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, Ternopil. The conference is open for everyone.
The first day will be devoted to the introduction to the subject matter of cultural education practiced with the aid of modern media. An introductory lecture and panel discussions are planned in the schedule. Among the invited guests are theoreticians and researchers of the modern media (Radosław Bomba, Ph.D. - UMCS, Piotr Celiński, Ph.D. - UMCS, Marcin Wilkowski - History and Media), as well as practitioners using the modern media tools in their artistic activity (Paulina Jędrzejewska of "Culture Shock" Foundation and Zbigniew Sobczuk of Society for the Encouragement of the Fine Arts in Lublin).
In the afternoon, presentations of the artists acting within the area of modern media art will take place. Alina Bąk (Beetle Foundation), Aleksander Janas (kilku.com collective), Papa Zura will present their actions. One of the works of Interactive Playground of WRO Art Center will also be shown.
The formula of the second day will be more open. Eight workshops divided in accordance with the theme will further describe the subject matter of the conference. 80 representatives of the municipal cultural institutions from Lublin, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Rivne, as well as other entities acting in the field of cultural education in those cities will participate in the conference. Key partner of the project is Institute of Digital Culture Foundation.
The lead partner of the project is the Municipality of Lublin and the partners are City Council Executive Committees of Ternopil, Rivne and Ivano-Frankivsk. The project will be carried out till January 2015.
