Opening of reconstructed border unit "Hrabove" at the Ukrainian-Polish border
On August 13, 2015 the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Colonel-General Viktor Nazarenko and the Head of Volyn Oblast State Administration Volodymyr Hunchyk opened reconstructed border unit "Hrabove" at the Ukrainian-Polish border in Shatsk rayon of Volyn Oblast. The event was attended by the Consul General of Poland in Lutsk Ms Beata Bzhyvchy, Border Commissioner of Poland in Nadbuzhnska area Mr Waldemar Skarbek, as well as by the representatives of the interacting bodies.
The large-scale reconstruction of the unit was executed within the international project on development of modern border guard sections infrastructure in the frames of the CBC Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013. In total, 5.3 million UAH was allocated for the reconstruction of "Hrabove" border unit in 2013-2015. The works included reconstruction of 30 buildings of administrative, residential, household and public use, installation of water supply network, replacement of heating supply networks and construction of a new boiler-house and renovation of the official apartments for the military personnel of this unit.
During the event, the guests of the border service unit had possibility to get acquainted with technical means, which are used by the border guards. In particular, special tools and hardware, received in the frames of the international project, including the patrol car "Duster", snowmobiles, ATVs, passenger trucks for transportation of personnel and thermal viewing equipment. During the celebration, the best military personnel and workers received awards.
